Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct establishes a set of guidelines and procedures that outline the responsibilities and behaviour of both staff and swimmers who are members of the Club.
Club Constitution
The essence of how we run our Club can be read in more detail in our Club Constitution.
Club Handbook
Our handbook is primarily intended for new members and those in the younger age groups (Water Babies to Junior Squad), although older swimmers may also find some of the information useful and a point of reference. Masters, Synchronised Swimming and Water Polo players should contact the relevant individuals listed under key contacts.

Child Protection Policy
The Witney & District Swimming Club believes that the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility and that all children and young people have the right to enjoy sport, have fun, be safe and be protected from harm. As such, the Club is continuously working towards maintaining compliance with the ASA Child Protection Policy – Wave Power.
The Club is committed to a caring, safe and friendly environment for all our swimmers. Bullying of any kind is not acceptable. If bullying does occur, all swimmers or parents should feel that they can tell a member of the coaching staff, welfare officer or any member of the organising committee and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively.
These procedures and guidelines were produced by the ASA Child Protection Working Group in conjunction with the NSPCC.
The membership of the ASA Child Protection Working Group includes representatives from clubs with experience in child welfare, the ASA Legal Affairs and Customer Services Departments, together with the SwimLine volunteers who are members of swimming clubs who work in child welfare as a profession and the NSPCC.
The ASA has an ongoing commitment to the safety and protection of children in swimming.
The Child Protection Working Group, the establishment of SwimLine, the publication of this booklet together with other initiatives described in here are practical examples of this commitment.

Ethics & Conduct
Witney & District Swimming Club is committed to treating all members equally, irrespective of gender, racial origin, religious belief, disability or political persuasion and adheres to the ASA Equity Policy (ASA Code of Ethics). In particular, the Club will ensure that all children have an equal right to protection and we expect all members and adults associated with the club will treat all children with dignity, fairness, sensitivity and respect. Discrimination, offensive or violent behaviour is not acceptable and complaints will be dealt with promptly ensuring that all parties are treated fairly.
Equity Policy Statement
The Club is committed to treat everyone equally within the context of their activity, regardless of sex, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or political persuasion.
The Club will ensure that equity as stated in the club rules is incorporated in all aspects of it’s activities and also recognises and adopts the Sport England definition of Sports Equity: Sports Equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society.
The Club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of discrimination, intimidation, harassment and abuse.
All Club members have a responsibility to challenge discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.
The Club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, accordingly to the club disciplinary procedures.
Photography
Flash photography is not allowed at the start of a race and if you plan to use video recording/photography using a camera or mobile phone, it is essential that you register your details in the book at the pool entrance and collect a display identification label.
